VIJAYWADA: Actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan on Saturday claimed that he had rejected BJPpresident Amit Shah's proposal to merge his outfit with the saffron party soon after the 2014 elections. Pawan had campaigned for the TDP-BJP combine across Andhra Pradesh in the 2014 polls along with Narendra Modi and Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing his partymen in Ongole on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan said: "Amit Shah had asked me to merge the Jana Sena with BJP which I refused to do. Why would I launch a party if I am interested in joining the BJP? Jana Sena was floated to question those in power on people's issues."
He went on to claim that he is against 'opportunistic politics' pursued by some of the parties.
